Faye Looking Forward To Full Season Of 2019 MSF After Sabbatical

Actress Faye Kusairi will be back in the racing seat after taking a sabbatical for this weekend’s first round of the 2019 Malaysia Speed Festival (MSF) Championship. Faye says regular points scoring results are her target when she lines up on the grid with team Moda Machine competing in the Street 1600 NA Category.

Previously Faye achieved a best result of third en-route to 4th place overall in 2016 MSF Championship, and with her best results in racing that year being the overall champion in the Sepang 1000km (S1K) endurance race. For 2019, Faye’s campaign with team Moda Machine would not only see her compete in MSF Championship, but other racing series too which would be announced soon.

“It’s good to be back in a race car and I really like the Moda Machine set-up, and it’s fantastic to keep the continuity of working with some of the guys that I’ve worked with previously. Obviously, there are new things that I need to learn and having two quick teammates in Mirza Syahmi and Syahrizal Jamaludin is great and I’m confident we can all do an excellent job together this season.

“I would say that I like to start the season on a good note and I would love to start scoring some solid points from the get-go, with some podiums finish perhaps on a regular basis, and that’s the team’s aim and mine,” says Faye.

“I’ll be putting in a lot of work into this year’s race program with the team and try to achieve the best as that’s always hugely important in a series as competitive as the MSF. Initially I was nervous, but after my test session with Syahrizal guiding me and getting familiar with the car, I am confident in my ability to race through. 2016 was a good step forward for me and I’m determined to make this year an even bigger step,” added Faye.

All 6 rounds on this year’s MSF Championship will take place at the Sepang International Circuit with the high profile event taking place in Round 1 which will also see the Asia GT Festival running during the weekend of Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 March.
